In 2007 the Namaga Integrated Development Program is planning to establish a safe house for girls refusing circumcision and/or fleeing early marriage. NIDP has been working in this area for some time, assisting in the rescue, placement, and education of over 150 girls to date.

The chief and village council of Namaga have cited the need for a safe and nurturing place for these girls as a top priority. Community land has been donated for this purpose, and local materials and labor will also be donated to build the house, but construction materials unavailable locally are still needed. A project coordinator is also needed to put together an operational plan for the house and coordinate with a local Maasai organization providing real-time intervention in cases of forced circumcision and advocacy for early betrothed girls.
