Koriko Moyie Women’s Group began in 2004 and officially registered in 2006. It has 25 members, most 65 years of age or older, who are actively working on improving life in the community by developing grassroots income generation and educating the community on sexual health. The Group does such things as:
- Coordinating community assistance with other like groups in Ngeta such as Kamser B Widows & Orphans Group and Sidika Women’s Group.
- Developing water services, a cereals mill, upgrading poultry.
- Community farming to establish sustainable food security.
- Economic sponsorship of orphans, destitute children, and other vulnerable community members in order to improve their access to food, clothing, shelter, education, and health care.
- Reducing HIV/AIDS and other STDs, especially among youth. Skills improvement for youth in education, farming, and business to promote self-reliance.
