Communities with greater control in their agricultural production can better ensure the nutritional well-being of its members. Agricultural projects also provide new income-generating opportunities.
School Garden and Farm Projects
Teachers and students work together to develop sustainable school gardens that provide essential nutritional value to students and virtually limitless opportunities for teaching and learning.
Community Garden and Farm Project
Communities work together to create and plant community vegetable gardens that provide food, income, and leadership opportunities for the locale.

Business and Entrepreneurship

Create Economic Independence . . .
The economic climate of an area is reflected in all other facets of development. Business management, entrepreneurship, and economic development are the cornerstones of multidisciplinary engagement with rural villages and communities.
Economic Literacy Program
Community members develop entrepreneurial and economic skills to facilitate their development of small businesses.
Micro-Loan Educational Program
Micro-finance programs support small business development and provide small loans for educational resources including textbooks, supplies, and uniforms to promote completion of high school.
Youth Entrepreneurship/Leadership Camp
Basic economic and business concepts are shared to enable youth to showcase and develop their own entrepreneurial leadership and potential through business ventures.
Job Skills Workshop
Adult employment programs encourage sharing skills such as interviewing, resume building, computer skills, supervisory and management skills, and more.

Literacy

Open Doors to Better Futures . . .
Education is the centerpiece of the multi-disciplinary approach to community and individual empowerment. Programs are developed collaboratively with local schools in response to educational needs.
Youth and Family Literacy Programs
Increase reading, writing and math skills of students through school-based programs. Families become involved in the education of their children and parents have the opportunity to meet their own literacy-related goals.
English Language Clubs and Camps
English language skills can provide a passport out of poverty through increased access to employment. After-school clubs and summer camps provide youth with a supportive and fun learning environment for English as a second language.
Young Authors' Workshops
Educators involve older youth in writing and illustrating books for younger children. Older youth improve writing skills; teach, inspire, and improve reading skills of younger children; and play an important role in building a permanent library of meaningful literature for school and community use.
Health Literacy Programs
Programs involve interacting with children's literature that addresses health issues and coordinating book-related activities to improve reading skills and understanding of health topics such as good hygiene practices and safe drinking water.

Youth Health and Hygiene Programs
Community members provide fun and active programs and camps for youth that promote good health by introducing important health and nutrition topics in the context of sport and recreation.
Rural Health Clinics
Medical care is offered at primary care clinics for prevention or treatment of illness and disease.
Mothers' Workshops
Mothers access resources and knowledge that promote healthy lifestyles relevant to local nutritional resources and financial capacity.
Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Education
Prevention education is aimed at decreasing the spread of HIV. Promotion of sexual and reproductive health through education on topics such as: condom usage, diagnosis of STIs, treatment options and locations, self-esteem building workshops, information about abusive relationships, pap smears, and breast exams.

Clean Water and Sanitation
|
Clean drinking water is a pervasive health problem that causes malnutrition, disease, developmental difficulties and even death. The World Health Organization reports a child dies every 8 seconds from diseases related to contaminated water. Clean drinking water is critical to the health of individuals and the community. Real change in people's lives starts with improvement of water quality and therefore community health.
Engineering Projects:
Health and government authorities in the region collaborate to plan, develop, construct, and implement water filtration measures.
Educational Projects:
Youth and their families learn good health and hygiene practices as well as techniques for water purification.

Human Rights
|
Advocate for Human Rights . . .
Law projects involve working with governments and citizens to develop and implement legal reforms, support programs that advance the social and economic well-being of the people, and build the capacity of local organizations and professionals to meet the needs of their communities.
Human Rights Projects
Programs work with industry to improve conditions for workers; collaborate with lawyers to increase awareness and advocacy efforts for sexual assault victims; provide training to support the work of human rights organizations; or establish legal aid clinics or victim service centers.
Youth Development Programs
Youth develop an understanding of the country's government and law, and how to be involved as leaders in making a positive difference in their communities. Youth are empowered to claim their own rights and serve as advocates for the rights of others.
Legal Support Projects
Programs provide legal expertise, advice, research, and analysis to assist with the development and/or reform of social laws.
