Overview    -   Appeals   -   Results

Over the last 15 years Peacework has partnered with individual school and school systems to improve infrastructure by building and improving classrooms and school buildings in addition to capacity building and literacy programs. We are continuously working to bring assistance to community partner identified needs.

Peacework volunteers have brought support to special needs children and carried out intensive language and empowerment camps for marginalized students. Special needs playgrounds have been built in several schools throughout the country. These playgrounds are specifically designed to integrate special needs students with the average population.

Water filtration systems have recently been installed at rural schools in Belize. The water filtration systems ensure that school children will have daily access to clean water, which is often a luxury in many of the communities in which we work. Furthermore, these filtration systems also benefit the community at large, as many do not have adequate access to quality water. The schools can use affordable water sales for income generation to sustain the filtration system and improve school infrastructure, and provided an essential service to the community.
