Peacework has sent hundreds of volunteers with varying backgrounds, ages, and areas of expertise to work within the orphanages in Russia. Recently a group of four Peacework volunteers journeyed from Little Rock, Arkansas to Moscow, Russia, to work at Orphanage 105 on a "Transition Flat". The Peacework group worked at Orphanage 105 to begin the process of cleaning up a flat that had been donated to the orphanage for the purpose of providing a place of transition for young women who have turned 18 and must move our on their own from the orphanage. Work consisted of stripping old wallpaper from all of the walls, cleaning and painting ceilings and windowsills, and removing baseboards and doorframes for the reception of new wallpaper.
