Children’s home and school project in Kathmandu Valley
Currently volunteers are needed to help repair and construct new classrooms in a government school outside of Kathmandu, which is attended by the children of a very special local children’s home. Home to 26 children of varied ethnic groups and ages from the poorest regions of Nepal, the staff and children live as a family. These children, many who arrived with little or no education are consistently coming in at the top of their classes due to the extra tutoring and nurturing of their potential they receive in their new home. Volunteers will work together with the local community to construct new classrooms and make repairs to existing the structures in the school, thereby serving all of the local children who attend. Volunteers will live on site at the children’s home, share meals with children and staff, mentor, play and learn from this inspiring extended family. Recommended donation $5000.
