Construction of water system for vegetable garden:
The group would like to expand the current vegetable garden that was created as part of a December 2006 project.  They want to be able to grow kale and tomatoes, which are highly nutritious but are very expensive. They aim to:

  1. Ensure steady vitamin supply to members
  2. Generate income
  3. Subsidize daily meals for families by providing food

Farmers in this area are confronted with many difficulties while trying to plan for a small garden or farm and harvest crops. There is a lack of rain and no close water source, so members must currently walk as far as 3km for water.  A nearby well with a pump to provide water for the vegetables would be ideal.  A solar power source could power the pump.  Furthermore, the pump could provide clean drinking water for the community.
