Peacework engages mainly in Fako and Manu Divisions of the South West Province of Cameroon: villages of Etoko, Kendem, Nchemba II, Nchemba I, Sumbe, Mbio, Baseng and Molyko-Buea.

These villages are remote, and rely mostly on farming and hunting for their sustenance. Villagers are in need of family and collective latrines, pipe-borne water, kitchen ventilation and drying racks (to relieve respiratory infections and food-borne illnesses,) as well as construction of primary schools, and health posts. In particular, we appeal to potential partners to adopt Nchemba II village, whose warm and resilient people are willing to put forth all the labor and resources they can to reach their goals to better their village. Digging, sand donation, land donation, carrying of sand and materials, formation of clay bricks, partnering on construction, hosting of guests, etc. are among the resources the village is able to bring to the partnership. Volunteers will be welcomed and cared for as family.

A Village Network university partner is also sought to partner in Molyko, Buea, the town where our UAC partners are located. Assistance is needed constructing a new primary school, unique in its child-centered pedagogy. Volunteers are needed to assist in teaching and developing programming that enables children to be catalysts for development in their communities. Assistance is also needed in supporting and expanding our partner sustainable agriculture, income generation, and vocational training programs.

In addition to the above, there is a lack of qualified health care providers in the area, and the health post in Etoko, which is staffed by a local volunteer part-time doctor and nurse serves 23 surrounding villages. We are looking for a dedicated medical school partner to work with us in this area.
