Country-wide school water filtration project installation
In association with the Ministry of Education in Belize, Peacework is actively installing Water Filtration Systems in primary schools around Belize.  Four systems have been successfully installed to-date and many more are requested.  Volunteers are responsible for building the vat and pipe systems, washing sand material, and installing the system.  Each system can be installed within one week by 8 volunteers.

Special education training in Placencia
A school in Placencia is seeking teacher training in special education.  Many schools are faced with an increasing number of students with special needs, but the training required to effectively serve the needs of these children is lacking.  A one-two week seminar for teachers could be held at the school, but open to teachers across Belize who are interested in receiving specialized training.  Other training programs in literacy, business, farming, social services, computers, etc. are encouraged when appropriately-skilled volunteers are available.
